Local 211, UAW Election Committee
Nominations
for the Local 211 UAW Election Committee were held at the March 5,
2008 membership meeting. The deadline to accept or decline
nominations as well as name verification was March 12, 2008. Voting was held on March 18, 2008.
Based on vote totals, the following members comprise the Election Committee:

The Tri-Annual Election of Local 211, UAW Officers
The tri-annual election of Local 211, UAW officers will be held May 13, 2008.
The following positions on the Executive Board are up for Election: President, Vice President, Recording Secretary, Financial Secretary-Treasurer, three Trustees, Sergeant-at-arms and Guide.
All Local 211 members in continuous good standing in the Local Union are eligible to nominate a candidate. You must be a member in good standing for one year to run for office. To be eligible to be a candidate for committee person or alternate committee person, a member must have been a Local 211 member in continuous good standing for one (1) year at the time of nominations. Each candidate must be assigned to a definitely defined district at the time of the nomination and must be nominated by the members from their own district.
Local 211 Retirees, Midwest Community Federal Credit Union, Metal Management of Ohio, Herbert Orr, Ferro Corp., Johns Manville and Powers and Sons unit members who wish to nominate a candidate for a position on the Executive Board must contact Lisa Beardsley at Local 211, UAW Hall, 419-784-5399 or 866-786-5399 before 4:00 P.M. on April 2, 2008.
Nominations for the General Motors unit Shop Chairperson, District Committee persons, alternates and Local 211 Executive Board will be held at the regular GM unit Union meeting on April 2, 2008. Deadline to accept or decline nominations as well as name verification will be at 4:00 P.M. Wednesday, April 9, 2008. Members who wish to accept the nomination must go to the Local 211 Union Hall during regular hours; or at the time of nomination, present proper I.D., write accept or decline next to their nomination, and sign their name next to it. Your name will automatically be dropped from the list if you fail to accept by this deadline. The top four (4) executive officers shall also be the local union delegates to the Defiance Area UAW-CAP Council.
Voting booths for the GM Unit will be located in the main hallway by the cafeteria in Plant 1 and the conference room adjacent to Plant 2 cafeteria. Polls will be open from 6:00 A.M. on Tuesday, May 13, 2008 until 6:00 A.M. on Wednesday, May 14, 2008. PLEASE VOTE IN THE PLANT YOU WORK IN.
Members from the Midwest Community Federal Credit Union, Metal Management of Ohio, Johns Manville units and Local 211 Retirees as well as anyone whose employment status prohibits them from voting at the plant may vote at the Local 211 Hall from 6:00 A.M. until 6:00 P.M. on Tuesday, May 13, 2008.
Ferro Unit and Powers & Sons Unit may vote at their facilities from 6:00 A.M. until 4:00 P.M. on
Tuesday, May 13, 2008.
Herbert Orr Unit may vote at their facility from 5:00 A.M. until Noon on Tuesday, May 13, 2008.
Any run-off Election needed will be held on Tuesday, May 20, 2008 at the same locations and times listed above.
If further run-off Election is necessary they will be held on Tuesday, May 27, 2008 at the same locations and times listed above.
PROPER I.D. WILL BE REQUIRED TO VOTE.
NOTICE: Section 504 of the LMRDA prohibits persons convicted of certain crimes from holding Union Office under severe penalty of law. If you are uncertain of your status please seek legal council.
