Education Committee

The Education Committee is responsible for publishing the montly Local 211 News and maintaining uawlocal211.org. This committee also functions during strikes as the educational arm of the local union to convey information to the membership pertaining to its rights and obligations, thereby qualifying the membership for monies through the International UAW strike fund.

UAW Local Union Press Association Excellence
in Journalism/Web Sites Contest for 2009

The UAW Local Union Press Association Excellence in Journalism, Photography and Video Contest is designed to recognize local union communicators who have achieved a high level of expertise in their efforts to educate and mobilize their membership.

The entries are judged by independent journalists and union activists, and winners are announced after a banquet at the UAW Local Union Press Association Communications Conference at the Walter and May UAW Family Education Center in Onaway, Michigan.
